BIRTH AND CHILDHOOD OF ADWAITA ACHARYA (1434-1559 A.D):---
HISTORICAL BACKGROUND: ---
The Mughal Empire had extended from the north India in about
the fifteen century .Through the Mughals were the rules of Bengals, yet the
responsibility of administration was vested with the Hindu Kayasthas.Out of
fear of the rules the either changed their religion or accepted titles like
khan, Mullick given by them and extorted taxes from the common people by
toutocher and thus pleased the rulers.
The
Educated circle of the society, like book worms used to be busy reading and
teaching old manuscripts. The objective of their lives was to enter into
agreement over holy law books, grammar, history, logic, debates and exhibiting
their mastery through victory or defeat. Most of the people were dependent on
lower. Tantra based on beastly conduct, occultrities for causing one’s death ,
persecute Someone black art worshipping of evil spirit as ultimate dharma. This
had no relation with with attaining God.
The number of
pure Vaishnava devotees was insignificant and they kept themselves conceated in
the society as very humble person’s .In this dark social milieu the main
centres of learning were Shantipur, Bhattapalli or Nabadwip etc. In terms of
scholarliness Nabadwip was above all. God in the frame of Sri Chaitanya
Mahaprabhu possibly selected Nabadwip and Shantipur for the cleansing of
dharma. Revival of the Vaishnava dharma afflicted with inferiority complex
would be possible only by accepting Vaishnava dharma after attaining the
ultimate boundary of knowledge and it would also be possible to attract the
Vedantist, monotheists towards the dharma of love devotion by taking sannays
Espoused by them. Shree Chaitanya had done just this in his own life.
God sends his companions to the earth prior to His advent. Such a thing also happened in the Tretayuga and The Dwaparyuga.Soon after five thousand years had elapsed in the kaliyuga, before the advent of Bhagwan as Shree Chaitanya, He sent down Adwaita Acharya Guru, the giver of mantra, parents and beloved companions.

Regarding the advent of Adwaita Prabhu.Ishan Nagar,the great
devotee of Prabhu and writer of “Adwaita
Prakash” had described and written that Mahadev Shiashmbhu” sung a hymn
in praise of Mahavishnu Harinaraya, the preserver of the world Mahavishnu
embraced Shivashambhu and together they
assumed one form the Harihar.
That
combined form prayed to the Supreme Lord to established Vaishnava dharma of
equality based on God’s name and love and devotion for the few awakening of the
neglected and oppressed lower caste people .Then there was a divine message –
“Oh Harihar descend on the eastern part India, and prepare the ground in order
to erase religious opposition through the form that you adopt and by our
combined strength.”
In does days the king of Laurpargana of Sunamganj (now in Bangladesh)
subdivision of Shreehatta was Kamasanarayan (Ganesh). His prime minister was
Nrisingha Ojha.Kuber Tarka Panchanan was his able son who later became
renunciates. His wife Lava Devi had a dream one day that the effulgent
‘Harihar’ manifested in her Lotus heart and said – “I am coming to you “Many
gods were singing hymns in His praise .It may be remembered that later an
astrologer also with godly looks made a forecast.” A divine child will be born
to you who will preach the dharma of truth.”
“ The Devine child was born on Shukla Saptami day (seventh day of the
lunar fortnight) that is also called Makori Saptami in the auspicious month of
of Magh (January – February).This was about 1434 A.D.The child had complexion
like bright copper, and as his eyes. Were large, rosy as the petals of the
lotus, he was named Kamalaksha.
As Kamalaksha’s
father was the of the king’s court and minister. The prince was
Kamalaksha’s friend. The prime of the kingdom where tantra was mainstay of
religion started arguing strongly in favour of tantric rities.Sacrifice and
Worship of the idol of mother god only. Kamalaksha then gave a loud roar. The
prince fainted following this. The king’s physician came and declared him dead.
The king and other accused kamalaksha of murder.Kamalaksha then made a promise
saying that the prince would get back his life if animal sacrifice was stopped
in the kindom.when the king accepted this kamalaksha put “Krishna charnamrita.”
into the mouth of the prince and he stood-up. Vaishnava sadhan started taking
place in a sweet – bhaba,discarding animal sacrifice and Panchamakar,(Wine
,meat, fish, posture and sexsualinter course collectively, five essential
tantric practices).As a result of this Bengal has contributed great ascetics,
loving. While staying with his parents between his age of 9 and 12, he finished
studies of all scriptures laws of grammar meaning within 3 years owing to his
sharp intelligence.
ACQURING SHELTER UNDER
SADGURU:-
The principal introducer of Premabhakti (love and devotion) stream among four main Vaishnava communities is Madhawacharya sect. Premabhakti was delivered by the supreme Lord Narayana to the creator god Brahma, and Brahma passed this rare system on to his son Narada and introduced the Vaishnave dharma in the world. The speciality of this sect is to transmit pure Premabhakti among sages and ascetics through the most secret power –impregnated people.By a divine confidence the kindest deliverer of love, preceptor of the travelling ascetics Shree Madhavendra Puri was present in the ashram at that time. He started hearing the interpretation of bhakti shastra on having a darshan of Puriji. The guru and disciple recognised one another Kamalaksha bathed in the stream of bhakti and prema’s joy on getting deeksha from Puriji.
Puri Maharaj said, “Kamalaksha, you are an ocean of kindness, it is rare to find such a selfless stance for the living elements complete your pilgrimage to the rest holy places and return home, I shall join you there itself “when he returned home, following pilgrimage, Madhavendrapuri reached Kamalaksha’s house at Shantipur .Puriji addressed him as Adwaitacharya there itself .This is because he had come to know by inner vision that kamalaksha was a part avatar of Harihar. He named this inseparability “Adwaita” he called him “Acharya” as he knew that Adwaita would propagate the tenets of dualism God and the devotee by teaching Bhakti and topics of pure devotion in place of the formless, attributes, “I am that “theory prevalent in the Vedanta. Since then kamalaksha was known as Adwaitacharya .

The power imprenated Krishna mantra given by Sadguru
Bijoykrishna brought a tide fresh water in the stagnated all ritualistic
Hinduism .The educated class that had deserted their age old religion for the
reason, now started coming back to their old but refined faith in large
numbers.
Renowned Brahmo reformers and national leaders such as Satish
Mukhopaddhay (founder of National council of education) Bipin Chandra pal
(great orarator and political leader), Saint Aswini kumar Dutta (reformer),
kunjalal Nag (speaker Professor, Kolkata University) Haran Chandra Chakladar
(Pros.Calcutta University) Manoranjan GuhabThakur (freedom fighter) to mention
a few of great personaties who took shelter under Sadguru Bijoykrishna Pravhu
and attained high spiritual levels.
It is said that massages follow the path on which the great
men tread. Thousands of Brahmas came back to the Hindus fold under the shelter
of Sadguru Bijoykrishna .It was a great spiritual revival in Bengal as well as
whole of India. A cross section of revered spiritual leaders like Maharishi
Devendra Nath Tagore and Keshab Chandra sen (Brahma Samaj) Sri Ramakrishna
Paramhansa and Vivekananda, Lokenath Brahmachari , Braja Viddehi Ramdas Kathia
Baba, BHolananda Giri, (Mahamandeleshwar), roarming Shiva of Kashi Tailanga Swami , Gambheernathji (Nath yogi)
had great reverence and love for Love for BijoykrishnaPrabhu.
FORMATION OF DEVELOPMENT COMMITTEE: DISCOVERY OF ADWAITA PRABHU’S BELONGING THROUGH BIJOYKRISHNA:---
Since his childhood itself used to visit a lonely place called Babla located in old shantipur a few miles away from his home .There he played with children or sang keertan at times .There was a temple and ashram at some distance, named Adwaita Gosainji came to Shantipur along with his disciples bhaktas as well as the pet dog of Kaloo. When they arrived at Panchavati of Adwaitapat at Babla, Kaloo started scratching the ground with his paws. He then ran towards Gosainji and pulled him holding his cloth with his teeth and kept barking. As gosainji got up and went to that spot. Kaloo started scratching again. Collecting a shaped and a crowbar from the nearby village the place was dug up and a water light copper vessel was excavated inside which there was a pair of wooden sandals with Adwaita Prabhu’s name inscribed on it, a small water pot and an old torn book were found .Seeing that a quarrel had started over the rights of this materials. Gosainji ordered these materials to be buried under the pedestal of the wooden idol of Adwaita Pravhu and these are there ever since then.
The temple of Adwaitapat (Babla) was the residence of Shree Adwaitacharya and Panchabati was his place of Sadhan .After several years disappearance of Adwaitaprabhu, the villages of Shantipur, Nabodwip etc. were submerged in the river of Ganga (1550 A.D) . The Successor’s families of Adwaitaprabhu were scattered in different directions and were deprived from the lineage of Balaram Goswami – the fourt son of Adwaitaprabhu made the Atabunia Goswami House at Shantipur clearing a place that was covered with thick forest of Ata (custard apples) called Ataban and thereafter the hose made was named as Atabunia Goswami House.
100 years after this Adwaitapat was resurfaced on its original place of Shantipur with the help of a Mahatma called Sitanath Das who got a command from Adwaitaprabhu through dream of direct darsan.Mahatma Sitanath accompanied with the members of Atabunia Goswami house resurfaced the temple of Adawitapat . From then the Goswami families from the lineage of Balaram Goswami are the priest and beneficiary of the ‘Adwaitapat’ till date.
Mahatma Sitanath Goswami made an appeal to all the devotees of vaishnave community in the year 1339(Bengali calendar) for the reformation of the temple due to some discriminations such as lack of pure drinking water, tollering condition of the portico of the temple just to fall condition of the kitchen room meant for the preparation of prasadam etc. and demanded for a monetary help of Rs- 25000/- for a complete renovation which he expected in the form anyone who could afford it on collectively. At this cordial request, many distinguished people came forward and signed as members of an organised committee for the development of the temple. This was the first step on the way to form this ongoing Development Committee of Adwaitapat .After the Disappearance of Sitanath Goswami his son Prabhupada Shantishakha Goswami became the Sevayet of the temple .Shantisakha Goswami being inspired with a divine force from eminent .Senior disciple as well as reputed keertan singer –Rebati Mohan Sen and Sri Satish Chandra Mukharjee (Founder of Jadhavpur University and editor of the newspaper- The Don ) of Mahatma Bijoykrishna Goswami helped a lot to bring this temple to this present stage. In this way, the development Committee gradually came to light with evolution of a Trust Board of the Temple as Seveyat as the President and the secretary from the family of priest and beneficiary and rest all as the active members. At Present, Prashanta Goswami, the son of Shantisakha Goswami is on the chair of the sevayat cum President and Secretary of Adwaitapat.

The temple of “Adwaitapat” was the residence of Adwaita
Pravhu and Panchawati was his place of shadhan. The temple and monestary built
on a devottar” land in old Shantipur (Babla) is one of the most esteemed places
for the Mahapravhu’s leela. Sitting on this spot one day Adwaita Pravhu roared
in a loud voice Samkarshan has come when Nityananda Pravhu was born.
This is the land where the great union of Gouranga, Nityananda and Adwaitacharya took place for the first time as the step towards establishment of dharma .The ‘Panchawati’ is still situated adjacent to this which was then located on the bank of the Ganga . Adwaita Prabhu was to perform the religious austerities sitting here and prayed for god’s advent in a roaring voice.
This land resurfaced 100years after after being ebgulfed by the Ganga soon thereafter the sandy land became covered with the jungles of babool trees.It has already been described that Adwaita Pravhu had directed a mahatma in a divine vision through dreams or direct appearance about the location of his residence and place of spiritual austerities.

About 300 years earlier this Vaishnava mahatma started
staying at Baleshwar (Orissa).Here he got a devine commandment from
AdwaitaPravhu –“I have Interest underneath the earth in a foul smelling spot in
Babla. Come and reclame me.”Finding Pravhu’s idol and used articles after after
digging a spot there installed them in the temple Shree Shree Adwaitaprabhu’s
temple has been erected their History says that 100 years after disappearance
of Mahaprabhu, Nityananda Prabhu and Adwaitaprabhu the course of the Ganga
change and Adwaitaprabhu’s place of residence and mahaprabhu’s place of birth
nabadwip were submerged in the Ganga. The Goswami families of both these places
were scattered here and there .some years latter a new land arose – inplace of
old Shantipur .The place was named ‘Babla’ was a thick forest of Babla (Indian
acacia) trees.
Adwaitapravhu’s temple and wooden idol was installed here by Mahatma Sitanath. The fascinating place is surrounded by mango trees arouses one’s inner consciousness. Many fortunate bhaktas hear the sound of supernatural samkeertan when they spend the night here.somelucky once have direct dashan also.
